Painted as a style test for a cosmic horror graphic novel collaboration with writer Craig Russell.
In the story, a troubled veteran is called back to his childhood hometown, an island off the Pacific Northwest coat home to an isolated fishing village. The veteran comes to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his friend, and in the process find an ancient evil lurking in the town. In this scene, the veteran goes to visit the local nautical antique shop, looking for answers. The antiques dealer spends his time combing the beaches finding things that wash ashore and might have seen some clues. When the veteran arrives, he finds the store keeper deeply ensconced in his lair, the dark interior of the shop, and he begins to feel he may have gotten more than he bargained for in coming to see the antiques dealer.
