Hacker Bunny

Personal Project / Unpublished

Awards: Included in Society of Illustrators #65

This painting grew out of my fascination with phone phreaks – technology enthusiasts of the 1970's and 80's who learned to manipulate the telephone system and started the culture of computer hackers. I imagined White Rabbit (a nod to Lewis Carroll) who pulls up to remote payphones in his repairman-looking van full of electronics gear, does his hacker mischief, and then drives off before he can be caught.

Painted as example and practice of light and color techniques for my illustration students.
